This week I totally scrapped my research paper and started
over, approaching it a new way. Along with way, I found that free
writing and talking to the author can really help. I took an article and copied
it into word then read it while keeping my fingers at the ready to type a
response or an idea or a solution or question or…well, you get the idea—I was
on a roll. Never before did I realize the potential for these articles to be,
not only regurgitated, but also manipulated. It is like having a conversation
within the text, there just isn't a response. Going through this article and
responding to it before I took it apart really gave me a reason to read it and
a direction to go when it came to placing the facts in the paper. I am so thankful
this has finally clicked and I am actually excited to research now! Let the
conversing begin!
Hurrah for "writing in the middle!" Glad that you made it work for you, Taylor.
